Death in the Name of Life

No person shall be held to answer for a

capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on

a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury ...

nor shall any person be subject for the same

offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb

... nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property,

without due process of law ... nor deny to any

person within its jurisdiction the equal protection

of the laws.

They fall at the rate of 4,000 a day. Less than one

percent of these abortions are for hardship cases such

as rape, deformity, incest, and threat to the mother's

life. Even in the cases of rape, judges rarely will set a

death penalty for the rapist. The guilty father usually

gets a few years punishment. However, the innocent

baby in the womb may get capital punishment. What

has this baby done wrong at all? Where is the fairness

in all of this by creating a second victim?

Certainly this is not being done in the name of

dealing with overpopulation. A large number of

economists and agronomists tell us that the earth is

very underpopulated and could handle ten times the

present population. Only 15 percent of potential

agricultural land is currently being cultivated; when

there are famines the root cause is usually more to do

with government policies than with farming strategies.

Dr. Robert Sassone, author of

The Population

Handbook,

has offered a $1,000 reward to anyone who

can suggest a ·valid reason why we must limit

population in the next century. He has had no takers.

Certainly there is no population explosion in America

as there is in some third world nations.
