Live and Let Live
the marriage has progressed we became closer than
flesh-and-blood relatives.
And so, our kids could understand that they were
chosen for the same reason that Mom and I chose
each other -- for genuine love -- and they can see
clearly that they belong. We do appreciate so much
that they see their membership in our family as the
most secure and strongest human bond that there can
be.
Never forget, we told our kids, that this means that
we love you enough to die for you, enough to discipline
you properly, enough to be proud when people praise
you, enough to be hurt when you hurt. And, heredity
becomes very unimportant, when we consider that we
are all related in the large family of God.
It
became
our prayer that their joy in being our child would
increase daily as they continue to grow in a special way
in the wisdom and stature and in favor with God and
man, as Jesus did.
