Acknowledgments and Afterthoughts
Spearheading our book project, and assisting at the
crucial stages of this monumental project, was our
extraordinarily capable Belden Center Secretary, Mrs.
Marcella Bailey, and our excellent student assistant,
Susan Tripp. Without the superb administrative talents
of Mrs. Bailey, and the yeomen service of Susan, this
book simply could not have been fully developed.
Thanks also go to a number of colleagues who
offered editorial suggestions when major sections of
this book were published earlier as expository
monographs. Especially on the pro-life section, the
eagle eyes of Mr. Jimmy Jones and Dr. Larry Long
didn't miss much. Ms. Nancy Miller, Dr. Jim Citty, Dr.
Stan Schwartz, Dr. Mike Justus, Dr. David Burks, Dr.
Jimmy Carr, Dr. Jim Carr, Mr. Bruce Mclarty, Mrs. Pat
Rice, and Dr. Neale Pryor also thoughtfully sketched
through various drafts of
"CHILDREN
--
America's
Greatest Natural Resource"
and provided helpful
feedback.
A great many sources have been consulted in the
preparation of this material, and credit has been given
to various sources as they were available. Hopefully
the References section will also give due credit and
enable those who desire to do further study to consult
those sources. Every effort has been made to include
only reliable information.
The author would welcome knowing about any
possible omissions or errors.
If
any acknowledgments
have been inadvertently omitted, the author would
appreciate receiving information so that proper credit
may be given in any future printings. Care has been
taken to trace authorship of select quotes and poems,
with gratefulness to past scholars and collectors for
