of club weeks past Faculty members reflected on their club week experiences. Shanna Jones Shanna Jones, instructor of family and consumer sciences - Zeta Rho 2000 and current sponsor "Well, it was a lot different than what we have now. There were a lot of physical components, so lots of running and exercising and push-ups and wall sits. I feel like the emotional side of it was actually better back then, because I think the older members saw us doing all that hard work and actually felt bad for us and so, they either ignored us or were nice. No one was mean, no one said mean things, no one requested mean things, because most of the whole process was the physical component and the challenges, like team building challenges that were frustrating and hard, but we did them, and they cheered for us while we did them. Zeta Rho, it molded me into who I am today. It provided me with leadership opportunities I never had, and I just feel a huge sense of pride." 56 Jim Miller Dr. Jim Miller, associate professor in the department of communication -TNT 1993 "I joined TNT in 1993. I was president my senior year. So, it was fun. As it is today, my pledge week was a time of bonding with my pledge mates. I remember Matt Schmitz, who works in the admissions office. He and I pledged together. I remember on rough night, we were in the Lee building, and we were waiting to go on trial to see if we had gotten into the club or not, and the upperclassmen stuck Matt and I into a bathroom stall and said, 'Sit here and do not open your eyes.' So, I sat in that stall with Matt Schmitz for two hours, and I don't think I ever opened my eyes because we were so scared of what was going to happen, and so, we just followed the orders. But such good times of bonding with my pledge class, getting to know the members, and those were good memories. I still have my dynamite stick that we all wore on our heads all week long."
