Ite unusual events President David Burks and board member Harrell Freeman greet guests at the dedication ceremony for Pryor Hall Oct. 26. A typical day for Burks was filled with meetings and special events. "I don't eat breakfast. I don't believe in it," Burks said. "I know everyone says it is the most important meal of the day, but I just don't do it, except of course if I am somewhere where everyone else is eating breakfast then I might eat something." With an empty stomach and adrenaline pumping, Burks settled into his office at 8:15 a.m. to examine his schedule each day. After plans for the day were finalized, Burks headed to chapel, splitting his time during the fall semester between the Benson and the newly added Administration Auditorium chapel. When he wasn't attending regular meetings and planning curricu– lum for the Christian business ethics class he taught in the fall, Burks traveled the country to raist support, recruit new students and foster relations with other universities. Despite the fu ll schedule Burks kept, he still managed to get eight hours of sleep on a regular basis. "I get a good night's sleep and then I am ready to start another day here at Harding," Burks said. (Photo by Renee Lewis) -Jenna LaCaze Phil Thompson, D.Min. Assoc.
