Kyodai Dressed in their jerseys of maroon, gray and black, the newest club on campus this year was the men's social club, Kyodai. The name originated from York College in Nebraska and means "brotherhood. " The club was officially established on September 4, 1992. Kyodai was chartered by approximately 15 members. The club participated in Pledge Week and, by the end of the year, the total grew to an estimated 30 members. The men of Kyodai hoped to provide a more "relaxed"atmosphere for their members. As one member said, "We saw a need to create a new club for those individuals who felt like they just couldn't quite fit in any of the other clubs....We know that having fun is the most important thing. " Kyodai members played an active part in club sport , devotionals, club outings and service projects. Intertwined with both a spiritual and "fun-packed" focus , the men of Kyodai ocial club enjoyed a prosperous first year. --Jan Bonds Phil Freeman and Allison Flo rence take time out to chat with fri ends and look around the Lectureship Tenr.
