'lJe{ta (jamma !Rjio Linked In Unity And Sisterhood The fourth birthday of Delta Gamma Rho marked a very special year for the club. This May the charter members were the first graduating class of Delta Gamma Rho. Liz Canter said, "It was sad seeing the charter members graduate, especially since they played such an important role in the establishment of the club; however, they left behind great patterns for us to follow." The club members continued to cairy the previous enthusiasm as in past years and to follow their club motto of "Linked in unity and sisterhood." By visiting local nursing homes, each girl showed the true spirit of Delta Gamma Rho. The members visited the homes on a bi-weekly basis, giving their time and love to the elderly. Each member felt the need to reflect on the things they should be thankful for, and they also learned to appreciate each other. Jan Baskett said, "The biggest thing it made me realize was that just because the elderly people that we visited weren't like me, they were still people. They had feelings and needs. They really needed the love and attention from someone; I am glad Delta Gamma Rho was there to give it to them." Sherry Orr said, "I felt like we not only helped them, but they also helped us by giving us a great feeling that will always stay with us. The benefits of this service project will remain with the participating members throughout their lives.' '+ - Julie Plemmons WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT? Could it be Ayanna Evans during pledge week? Delta Gamma Rho pledges were easily recognized on silly day by the symbolic ring around their necks. CHI ALPHA RHO & DELTA GAMMA RHO 107
