Lambda Sigs Helping Others While Helping Themselves Lambda Sigma social club was founded in 19.35. This men 's club motto is "Triumph through togetherness." Everything this year was done to bond the Lambdas together. From picnics to sports, unity was stressed. This involved being club brothers as well as brothers in Christ. At its founding, First Security Bank gave the club a bank bag which has been signed by all the club treasurers since then. This year, Lambda Sigma dedicated the bank bag to the First Security Bank and displayed it at homecoming. Lambda's main service project involved the Adopt-aHighway program. This was a new idea for the club. This program involved cleaning a stretch of the interstate three times a year. One member said, "This may seem insignificant compared to the world's garbage problem, but every little bit helps." The program also contributed to the club "a greater awareness of environmental problems," as Arden Miller stated. While keeping up with current environmental concerns, it brought the club together. President Bobby Gunn said, "The project helped to strengthen our unity. It is a good, positive feeling when you see all your club brothers come together to accomplish a task.' ' Lambda Sigma also had a goal to become more spiritually oriented. Weekly devos encouraged members while providing an outlet to share concerns in their personal lives with others. Whether it was environmental awareness or club unity, the members of Lambda Sigma social club strove this year to help others while helping themselves. • - Laurie Simmons l'VE GOT MY EYES ON YOU.
