Physical Eduacation Majors and Minors, Student Arkansas Education Association, Spanish Club and French Club E ducation majors and foreign language students had many opportunities for growth through the SAEA, PEMM, the French Club, and the Spanish Club. The Student Arkansas Education Association was designed to "familiarize education majors with a professional organization," said the sponsor, Mrs. Jeanine Peck. They were involved with a service project in which they helped raise money to send books to a school in Jamaica. They put up boxes in various locations around campus and encouraged people to put their aluminum cans in them. Then they sold the cans and used the money to buy the books. They also attended workshops and professional meetings and had an outing in the fall. The Physical Education Majors and Minors club strove to promote professionalism among those interested in physical education. They had a cookout, a racquetball, pickleball, and badminton tournament, and participated in the American Alliance for Physical Education. They had about forty-five members and were sponsored by Coaches Ronnie Huckaba and Randy Tribble. Promotion and enjoyment of the French language was the major objective of the French Club. The club was open to anyone interested in French, although most of the members were in a French class. They visited a French exhibit in Memphis, Tennessee, saw a French play by Moliere, in North Little Rock, and had a booth for the WorId Mission Workshop. They also had a Christmas party. The club was sponsored by Dr. Winfred Wright. The goal of the Spanish Club was interaction of the Central American students with North American students. The club was comprised of both and was open to anyone interested. They got' together each week and spoke Spanish and learned more about the Central American culture. They worshipped together each Wednesday evening in Spanish. -Lilli Carlton LAUGHTER, THE BEST MEDICINE. Trina Shaw, French club member, gets a good laugh from a club sister.
