Science and Medical: Pre-Med Club, Chemistry Club, DeVita and HSNA gave students more practical experience in their chosen field of study S tudents majoring in science or medicine were given opportunities to explore their chosen fields through the Chemistry club, Devita, HSNA, and the Premed club. The Chemistry club was sponsored by Ed Wilson and had approximately fifteen members. They were involved with High School Day demonstrations and judging high school science fairs. They were also in charge of the chemistry booth during Wellness Week. They took several field trips. One of them was to the University of Arkansas Medical Center. The club's objective was to promote chemistry. The Society of Life Sciences (DeVita) had as its objective promoting intellectual and social interaction among biology majors, and students and faculty. They attended seminars with students and faculty and guest speakers. They took field trips and had a cookout. The Harding Student Nurses Association was sponsored by Louise Bradford. The club's president , Yvonne Francois said that the objective was "to help in our goal of professionalism as nurses." The club kept the students clued in on the rights and responsibilities of nurses. They participated in community health projects and a nursing convention in October.
