JI arding is a great place to live and to work. There are many opportunities to touch the lives of hundreds of young people and to serve the church by training its future leaders," said Vice President for Academic Affairs Neale Pryor. And any Harding student would agree that Pryor took advantage of those opportunities. Pryor was known for his preaching at gospel meetings throughout the country; in 1987-88 he held meetings all the way from Searcy to Anchorage, AK. He was active as an elder at the College Church, directing the visitation program and teaching the auditorium adult Bible class on Sunday mornings. Professional activities were also an important part of Pryor's work. He attended the meeting of North Central Association in Chicago, the Christian College Deans' Meeting in Oklahoma City, and the Arkansas Deans' Association Meeting held in Jonesboro, AR. U nder the leadership of C. · Floyd Daniel, vice president in charge of university relations, Harding ended its five-year campaign, $1.3 million ahead of its goal of $13.l million on December 31, 1987. Daniel offered this as an explanation for the $14 .4 million in pledges: "People give to Harding because they have confidence in its mission and its people." Daniels went on to say, "For me, Harding is more of a ministry than a job. Harding exists to change lives. I'm thankful for a faculty and staff that give their lives to this end. I'm equally grateful for a host of christian firends who give of themselves, their time, prayers, funds, and words of encouragement to those of us on campus. Daniel anticipated Harding launching its largest five-year financial campaign sometime in 1988. Besides all of his responsibilities as vice president of university relations, Floyd Daniel had many other roles to fulfill. He was an elder at the College Church and also served as a member of the Missions, Finance, and Preacher's Committees. He was chairman of the Christian Service Committee and continued to serve as a consultant to the Children's Home and Crowley's Ridge Academy. Not to be overlooked, one of his favorite duties was his being a grandfather. C.
