"A sport for every man and every man in a sport " is the slogan that characterizes hi s program. Sportsmanship and leadership are given strong emphasis in the program. Beck encouraged each man to participate in as many of the 40 events as possible and participation in 30 different activities was required of everyone who ea rned an intramural jacket. "A lot of time has been put into the program to make it one that is worth ge tting involved in, " commented Mike Oliver. "It is well-organized and that makes participating in it more enjoyable. Competition between the men's social clubs generated the keenest compe tition and highest level of en thusiasm in the intramural program. High sportsmanship was maintained in the competition through strict enfo rcement of penalties for violating sportsmanship rules. "Sportsmanship in the intramural program is very good," believes Bren t Miller. In their capacities as assistants in directing the program and as game officials, many students gained valuable leadership experience. Participa ti on was the major emphasis of the program. To facilitate the greatest measure of participation. A, B, C, 0 and E level teams were fielded by some clubs in some sports. "I participate because I enjoy most sports ," remarked Miller.
