Harding 20 State College 14 The aerial artistry of Terry Welch and Ronnie Peacock brought Harding its first victory over State College of Arkansas in eleven seasons of competition, 20- 14. Making the most of a pair of Bison fumbles, the Bears took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Coach Prock's Bulls showed great offensive poise and hard-hitting defense to come from behind and win. In eight plays the Bulls moved 87 yards in the second quarter to score with a 25 yard pass from Welch to Peacock. Again in the third quarter, the Welch-Peacock duo scored on a nine-yard play. The final Bison score came on a fumble recovery return by Emerson Brubaker that covered 29 yards. Peacock, the ATC's pass receiving leader set a season record of 62 by grabbing seven passes for 139 yards. Welch hit 13 of 20 passes for 187 yards for his best night of the year.
