May Day Festivity For a period of twenty years the May Fete, sponsored by the Ju Go Ju club, has been a highlight of the spring season on the Harding campus. Suspense is high as the court, composed of one member from each college and high school social club, takes its place by the throne. Which of the three finalists will be crowned Queen? At last she appears and the event culminates as thirty-two girls wind the May pole to the strains of the beautiful Strauss Waltzes. Although the May Day festivities seem to take place effortlessly, preparation is actually begun months before - as Jane Claxton, director of the 1955 May Fete, can testify - with the May Queen Nominees - ROW ONE: Jo Ann Seay, Marjorie McGinnis, Bobbie Jean Wirth, Ramona Thompson, Jennie Majors.
