The South has long been referred to as the "Bible Belt"' and the term is not Without reason. On a recent Sunday, the Citizen assigned a photographer to make the rounds of some of the larger churches in the city in order to show just where the people are on a Sunday morning. With more than 30 churches in the city it was, of course, impossible to cover them all so we decided to show,.- from primarily large churches, the same sort of scene that was being played out in all of the churches in the Searcy area over the weekend. . The pictures show many kinds of ar– chitecture, many different religious fellowships, many different types of ser_. vices in progress but_ the one common denominator was the fact that, on a day off, when a lot of people could _be sleeping or fishing or doing something_ else,· great masses of our people were in their churches worshiping God. •·
