In a candlelight ceremony, Melody Ann Mason and Gregory Allen Green were united in marriage at the Downtown Church of Christ Friday night. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Grady Mason and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Green. The bride is the grand– daughter of Mrs. Myrl Pen– nick of McGhee; The grand– parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Elliott H. Green of Nacogdoches, Texas and Robert 9ray of Houston. The double-ring ceremony was performed · by Glen Pace, minister of the Downtown Church of Christ in Magnolia. Nuptial music was directed by Harold Valen– tine. Solo presentations were sung by Beverly Bucy, "The Promise," and Valentine, ''TheWedding Prayer.'' The church was decorated with a brass arch entwined with ivy, accentuated by boston ferns. On either side of the arch were two, seven- · branch candelabra and two, fifteen-branch candelabra holding apricot tapers. A unity candle was placed on the podium behind the brass archway. The pews were marked by brass aisle– markers and adorned with satin bows, ivy and silk .apricot flowers. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a for– mal gown of ivory satin organza with a victorian neckline adorned with pearl- 1. ed Alencon lace with a sheer wide V-yoke on the bodice and fitted long sleeves. The A-lin, skirt featured a chapel-length train and was accentuated by bands of lace with a wide pearled lace border at the hemline. The bride's hat of organza was enhanced with pearled Alen- con lace, silk flowers and a pleated brim. At the back of the hat was a walking length veil of silk illusion. The bride carried a cascade bouquet of shades of apricot and candlelight silk roses with candlelight leather leaf. Lee - Ann Berry att.ended the bride as maid of honor. Brid~aids were Jenny Tindal\, Maresa Moon•, Elise Shirky and Stacy Lynn Green, sister-in-law of the bride. They wore identical gowns of apricot organza and carried oouquets of silk roses mounted on sandlewood fans with candlelight streamers. 'Misti Jones, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl. Sh~ wore a dress of apricot . organza with ruffles and lace · and carried a natural wicker basket with apricot streamers. Todd Bryan Green served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Steve Spurlock, Steve Jackson, Roger Coker, all of Searcy, and Raymond Smith of Killeen, Texas. The groom was dressed in a formal candlelight long- · tailed tuxedo while the groomsmen were attired in candlelight tuxedo jackets with contrasting brown trousers. . The ringbearer was Craig Mason, cousin of the bride. He carried a counted cross– stitched wedding pillow. His attire was identical to that of the groomsmen. Mrs. Mason chose for the occasion a floor-length gown of seafoam green chiffon. Mrs. Green wore a floor– length gown of sandlewood qiana. Their corsages .were silk apricot roses with baby's breath. Guests were registered at a table in the foyer where Patricia Kiihnl was ·in charge of the bride's book_. A reception followed in the Fellowship Hall of the Chur– ch. The bride's table was overlaid with a floor length cloth of ivory taffeta and lace, draped at the corner and accented with ivory satin bows · and greenery. Peach silk Oowers in a silver candelabrum formed the centerpiece. The wedding cake featured a fountain .and was • placed on a large· round mir– ror. Peach sherbet punch was served from a silver punchbowl. The groom's cake, a punch fountain and a fruit tee of fresh fruit bits graced the groom's table, which was covered identically to the bride's table. Tina Jackson, . Angela Zelasko, Lori Reynolds, Kim Wells, Kim Jones, Sheila Mason, Rhonda Mason and Teresa Priest assisted at the reception: - . . Candle arches and spirals were used at vantage points for the reception. A bulletin board trimmed with bows and ivy, held snapshots of the bride and groom, taken through the years. The guest registration table was overlaid with a floorlength cloth of candlelight taffeta, trimmed with · lace. Apricot silk flowers and a candle in a brass candlestick was plac– ed beside the bride's book. Patricia Kiihnl registered the guests. Cindy Jones, Michelle Mason and Kristen Perry of Houston distributed scrolls and rice bags. For travel the bride chose a white linen two-piece suit with brown accessories. She pinned her mother's corsage at her shoulder. After a wedding ·trip to Dallas the couple will reside in Searcy. · LOOK FOR A REPEAT TONIGHT - The famous Carter smile could be seen in abun– dance following Jimmy Carter's accep– tance speech at the 1976 Democratic Con– vention. Priest an– nounce the engagement of their daughter, Teresa Beth, to William G~ry Long, son o_f . Mr. and Mrs. Bill Long of Atlanta, Georgia. The prospective -groom, a graduate of Har– ding Univers'ity, is continuing his education at the University of Arkansas at · Little Rock. The bride-elect is a student at· Har– ding. The wedding wi~I take place at 6 p.m., ' August 29 at the College Church of Christ. Amy, son Jack, Carter, Rosalynn Carter, _son Jeff, daughter-an-law Annette, on Chip and daughter-in-law Caron. Carter will ac– cept the 1980 nomination tonight with the maior drama left being whether ·or not Senator ·Edward Kennedy will appear on the podium with the President. • •
