Simple Pleasures and Quality Living
Life is just one long vacation
To the man who loves his work,
But it's constant dodging duty
To the everlasting shirk.
Life is what we try to make it,
Life's
a
story ever new:
To the faithful, earnest worker
What, my friend, is life to you?
It has been said that we can't control the
length of our life, but we can control its use.
We can't control our facial appearance, but we
can control its expression. We can't control the
weather, but we can control the moral
atmosphere that surrounds us. We can't
confroi the distance of our head above the
ground, but we can control the height of the
contents in our head. We can't control the
other fellow's annoying faults, but we can see
to it that we do not develop similar faults.
So, why worry about the things we cannot
control? Let's get busy controlling the things
that depend on us. Don't be a pessimist, one
who feels bad when he feels good -- for fear
that he'll feel worse when he feels better.
Here's how Arthur Pell, author of
"The
Human Side."
colorfully put it:
