Fraternities and sororities were created for students to join together and bond over common interests socially and academically. Around the United States, college students go through recruitment week to become a member of one fraternity or sorority. Recruitment week, better known as rush week, is a time for prospective students to learn more about Greek life and individual fraternities and sororities. This week is at the beginning of the school year, usually before school starts. There is a more formal approach to rushing a sorority than there is to a fraternity, but both organizations do dayto-day activities. In Aug. 2022, University of Alabama took TikTok by storm when #BamaRush went viral. Women looking into Greek life shared their experiences, outfits and advice online. Every day of the week TikTok users watched short clips of their favorite “rushtokers” and followed their journey through the week. GREEK LIFE GOES VIRAL
