Photo by: Kaitlyn Cutshall IN THE SUMMER OF 2021, the NCAA passed new legislation allowing student athletes to profit off of their name, image and likeness. Two Harding University athletes embraced this new opportunity by signing sponsorship deals with AMT Fitness. Bison football player Jay Marshall and track and field athlete Colton Bowman were AMT Fitness’ first sponsored collegiate athletes. Marshall and Bowman were required to represent the brand by periodically wearing AMT merchandise and promoting the brand via social media. In return, the athletes received gear of their choice every four to six weeks, and they earned commission for any merchandise sold.
