EDITOR'S NOTE When move-in began on August 17, cars filled parking lots, laughter interrupted conversation and campus came back to life. Traveling from across the road, across the country and across the pond, we brought life back to campus. We returned with eager hearts and high hopes for a new year. In the eight months from day one to graduation, we celebrated more life. And after our friends walked across the Benson stage on May 5, we saw campus catch a breath again, making note of what made this year at Harding special - of what made this the year of our synthesis. Our synthesis appeared in the summation of the year's events. We traveled across the globe to expand our horizons, celebrate culture and find ourselves. Locking arms as a community, we supported our friends in unity. Late-nights spent studying and starting projects too late paid off for some - and for others it did not. The front lawn became a place for centering ourselves and finding peace. In the design of this book, our synthesis was reflected in the selection of photos that represent a greater story. We brought together the four definitive colors of the printing process - cyan, magenta, yellow and black - that make an image whole. The book itself is a reflection of synthesis - a compilation of our best stories and memories into the record of a year. Just as our synthesis is reflected in the design of this book, our students' brilliance, zeal for life and embodiment of Christ is reflected as separate parts being bound together by a common love for each other and our alma mater. Our ideas converged and embodied the spirit of Harding: a spirit that reminds us we're always part of something bigger than ourselves. In fitting the campus story between these covers - a task of near-impossibility - the PetitJean staff hopes our diligent work brings you to remove it from its shelf one day, cherish it without haste and recall the Harding magic. We present this book to those who have lived more life, who have walked beside us, who have inspired us, who make up this mosaic of our stories. We present this 94th Petit Jean to you, our dear readers. KALEB TURNER, editor-in-chief
