After graduating college, he married the love of his life, Maxine Mitchell. Almost immediately after their marriage, they began mission work in Florence, Italy. When they returned home, he preached for several years in Santa Cruz, Berkley and San Lorenzo, California, and then taught at the Preston Road School of Preaching in Dallas, Texas. In 1973, he began his career teaching Bible at Harding University until his retirement in 2000. His love for Harding ran deep; it was in his blood. Even after his retirement, he remained active on campus, never missing a football or basketball game. He was also heavily involved in lectureships and devotionals, and as an emeritus faculty member, he was honored with many awards. "His family was everything to him. As the patriarch of our family, he always exhibited love, humility and kindness - and loved Jesus with every facet of his existence -'- being a wonderful example to all of us of how to live our lives according to the Gospel. We could not have asked God for a more wonderful Dad and Grandad; we know without a doubt that he is now in Heaven, praising Jesus." - The Lowe and Pfeifer Family 0 r 0 Cf') z G) w 0 c.o
