As a software dc\·clopment major from \\'ashington state. he made a big in1pact with one small act of senice. ·'A lot of people arc surrounded by negativity in this world and just one' simple thing can raise people's spirits sometime<;,°· \ \"ilson said. \Vil 0 11 said he got the idea f1·om a former Harding student whom he had seen \Vilson helped anyone at church wid I technical diffi.cuh.ies and would always offer help to ;inyonc who needed it. Though quiet and introwrtccl, he was able to impact the li\·es of many people in church and on campus ll'ith his servant heart. "It's just die' little things,·· Lad said. ''A lot of people do look for the big things to be noticed fandJ they might make an impact, but CJ has made a long-lasting impression on e\·eryone he opens the door for.·· Noel and Lael often had \\'ilson m·er for Sunday lunch after church services and doing the s;i.me tl1iug when he was a freshman, and it inspired him to do the same. "It's not about trying to impress people or trying to be a better Christian than other people," \ \Tilson said. ·'It's about just a simp le act of service." \ \Tilson attended CoUegc Church of Christ, where he interned and was acti\-cly "lt)s not about trying to impress people or trying to be a better Christian than other people. It)s about just a simple act of service.)) -Senior CJ Wilson were able to get to know him better. They said he alway offered help to others and ne\'er asked for anything in return. '"He j ust has a real heart for helping people," Nod said. \\"ilson understood the importance of feeling unim·oh-cd and said that influenced his desire to help invok ed in assisting staff with technology. He engaged in close relationships with many elders and members, including prcachjng miruster Noel \,Vhitlock and !us wife Lael\ Vhitlock. "\Ve're a big church but everyone in this church knows CJ, and it's notjust because I talked about him," Noel said. "He has helped [so] many people." others in any way he could. "If you keep looking around to do the big things, in a way, that does lead to you being stagnant and not finding that big, amazing thing that you expected to be doing,·' \\Tilson said. "There is ah,·ays [al need. [There are] always people hurting. If you can bring somejoy into people's lives in any way, just do that."
