u Iw I I I- <( The life of a collegiate athlete is like no other. It consists of early mornings, late nights and hot afternoons spent working out. Sometimes social opportunities are missed for practice, and test preparation happens in a seat on the bus rather than in a seat in the library. There are long hours spent anxiously awaiting a big game and even longer hours spent preparing for it. There is no such thing as monotony. There are always new things: new opponents, new workouts, new tournaments and new teammates. The newness presents both challenges and opportunites to foster friendships and create memories. Every endeavor presents an obstacle, and overcoming those obstacles can turn a team into a family. Though the career of a collegiate athlete ends in four years or less, the memories and families last a lifetime. S~:tVanid Athletics Editor
