IN LOVING MEMORY Grace Farrar The namesake of the Health Sciences Building, Grace Farrar, passed away January 11, 2013. Farrar and her husband Dr. Henry Farrar attended Harding in the 1940s and served as missionaries in Nigeria from 1964 to 1996. Virgil H. Lawyer 1946 alumnus and former faculty member Virgil H. Lawyer passed away Sept. 13, 2012, at 88 years old. Lawyer joined the faculty in 1961 as the dean of students and director of admissions, became a professor in the History department in 1972 and retired in 1989. Dr. Ken Neller Dr. Ken Neller unexpectedly passed away Jan. 10, 2012, from a heart attack. Neller, 58, was an important member of both the Harding and Searcy communities, serving as a professor of Bible and Greek since 1992 and as a preacher and elder at Downtown Church of Christ. Connor Mobley Sophomore Connor Mobley passed away Nov. 14, 2012, after battling Glioblastoma, a rare type of brain tumor. The 19-year-old Southaven, Miss., native transferred to Harding in the fall and began his semester as a youth ministry major. Coach John Prock July 17, 2012, Harding lost a longstanding and integral member of its athletic community, Coach John Prock, who served as the Bison football coach from 1960 to 1987. Prock's successful career included membership in several halls of fame, four National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Coach of the Year awards and a position as Dean of the Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference. After 64 years of marriage to his wife, Charlene, Prock preceded three children, eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren in death.
