The devotional took place four nights out of the week, designed to end each evening on a high note. It offered a time of fun and refocusing after full days of club activities. Students selected to lead devotional thoughts were recommended by the Interclub Council (ICC), composed of social club officers. Student Association President senior Bruce McMullen was given the opportunity to speak Thursday night, which he considered a great honor. "That's a new atmosphere and environment for me but something that I'm excited and passionate about," McMullen said. "I was glad that I could do it." McMullen spoke on diversity and awareness of people's differences. "Nobody's story looks like anybody else's," McMullen said. "That should encourage us to want to learn about other people and love other people and build relationships through our common bond in Christ." McMullen said roll call served as a time when clubs could show their pride with chants and cheers, as well as supporting other clubs. "The idea of roll call mixed in with the devotional is a unique thing and a great reminder of what is the backbone behind social clubs," McMullen said. Assistant Deans of Students Kara Abston and Zach Neal oversaw the entire club week process and ensured that All Club Devos were both inspiring and exciting. "It is the high point of the evening, when all clubs get together for a celebration of their evening activities and where they can show their club spirit and pride," Abston said. The event took place in the Ganus Athletic Center (GAG), providing the perfect venue for the hundreds of students involved in clubs to come together. "It's a good way to bring closure to each evening with an energetic format," Neal said. "Any opportunity we have, especially with that large of a group to sing together, is awesome." Both deans agreed that unity was the underlying theme of All Club Devo, breaking down preconceived notions and stereotypes about one another. "[ThisJ definitely creates a common bond and unity within the club and then also within the school r reflecting] the greater scheme of social clubs and what the purpose is," McMullen said.
