Pride was an important part of every social club on campus, and mixers were ideal times for clubs to show this pride to others. The Ko Jo Kai Ladybug Loco mixer was a staple mixer for the club, showcasing what the club was all about to potential members. "We are very proud of our club, and we have a lot of club pride," junior Mary Bedwell said. "[The mixer J shows that we're proud of who we are. We are a club that's loud and fun." Though the sponsors did not dress up as much as the club members, they also agreed that the mixer was the best way to show who Kojies were. "I think this mixer fits the personality of the club very well," sponsor Emily Hoggard said. "I feel like the enthusiasm that goes into dressing up shows how much they love the club. The girls on the outside think these girls really love this and are passionate about it, so it really fits Kojies." At the mixer, members dressed up as ladybugs, showing their individual inner ladybug style, from ladybug makeup to ladybug tights. "This mixer is something we all look forward to," Ko Jo Kai president senior Keeley Weatherly said. "It's our first kick-off; it gets us ready for club week." This year, the mixer was used during first round mixers in order to show new girls the not-so-serious side of the club as soon as possible. According to tradition, the mixer began with a meet and greet followed by a club song written by former beau and Harding alumnusJames Taylor. Next, members and attendees played games, including a Kojie favorite, the scavenger hunt, where the girls were given a sheet of paper with different colors on it. They had to find something for every color on the paper and bring it back to the Mclnteer. Kojie beaux served as team captains. "The scavenger hunt was the most fun part," freshman Kylee Coble said. "I got to know some of the other girls on my team because we had to work together to find everything we needed. Everyone was yelling and cheering for us; it was just really intense and exciting!" The Ladybug Loco mixer was one of the more interactive events Kojies did during the club process. "The other mL'I:ers are interchangeable, but this one is more of a staple mL'I:er we do," Weatherly said. "This one is more of who we are; it says, 'We're Kojies."' Mallory Davis Social Clubs b f --
