Spring 2005 brought changes to the club process. Inductees and class-cwo members were obsolete terms. Instead of students becoming club members after completing Club Week, new members were ushered into clubs on Bid Day. "We're looking at how we can adapt those traditions. Dr. David Colli ns, vice president for student services, said the changes were ro reflect the Chriscian atmosphere. "It JUSt didn't make sense the way it was: Be mean all week [0 someone, and turn around and love them at the end," Collins said. Collins said the changes were pur in place to mirror the club process used in other schools across (he country. "Most stare schools do it this way, with a drawn– our visitation process, then a rush or club week," Collins said. Even though there were changes to the process, new members were still required to complete certain activi– ties during Club Week. Talent shows, cookouts, club Club Week encourages unity among members books and wearing club colors developed into the daily routine for the new members of the social dubs. Among the new members who accepted their bids was senior John Rachels, who joined T NT. "I knew from the starr that I wanted to joinTNT," Rachels said. "I.ewas hard at first because I was a transfer, and Ididn't know what [Club]Week was all about, bur after the fiTS( day, it was easy to get the hang of." The social club processchangesoffered new members the opportunity to get better acquainted. "It was all abour team bui lding with the [new member] class," sophomore Andrew Reynolds, who also j~,ined TNT, said. "Unity was our main goal that week.
