After receiving a master's degree from the University of South Carolina, Doran, who attended Harding as an undergraduate student, returned to his alma mater to teach in 1968. "[Doran] is genuinely passionate and knowledgeable about the subjects that he teaches," said junior Jo Ellis, who traveled to Chile with Doran in 2002 with the HULA program.
