Harding's administration in 1924 was focused on Christ. The administration in 2004 continued that commitment. The founders of the university said no matter what equipmeilt or academic leadership the school possessed, Harding would always be centered around Christ. ].N. Armstrong, Harding's first president, said, "Remember that Harding College lives as the result ofkeen sacrifice; that every book in her library, and every piece of equipment in her laboratories are the result of the influence ofChrist upon hearts." Junior Tom Johnson said administrators presented an established faith to students throughout the year. "They are concerned about how you are doing in YOut Christian walk," Johnson said. "You don't find that at every university. " As leaders of this university, Harding's administration, facul ty and staff strove to keep the school centered on Christ.
