raises money for charity Junior Andy Green smiles as senior Josh Davidson encourages the crowd to increase its bidding for Green at the Divine Property Man Auction Nov. 14 in the student center. Divine Property, a women's service club, auctioned off its male friends and raised $559 for Jovenes Y Camino, an orphanage for boys in Honduras. Davidson and junior Shelly Roberts acted as the masters of ceremony for the event. One by one, guys were bought by girls making donations. Guys who were auctioned off were asked to participate in the Student Association-sponsored Rake-and-Run Nov. 16 with the girls who donated money. "I thought the charity was a great idea and I was glad to be a part of the night's festivities ," Davidson said. Junior Jimmie Doyglass received the highest bid of the night, at $82. Several members of Shantih combined to buy Douglass. "The auction was a great way to meet new people and a fun way to raise money for the orphanage in Honduras," Douglass said . "I would definitely participate in the auction if they did it again." Divine Property, which began in 2001 , desired to serve God and others. "We want to serve God and worship Him in spirit and truth and take advantage of having all our Christian sisters to– gether," junior Lisa Davis said. The auction provided entertainment as well as a service opportunity for the girls. "Our theme is thinking about ministries," Roberts said.
