Senior Jaime Fahs said her summer intern– ship, at FOX 2 News in St. Louis, focused her career choices. "My internship helped me narrow my focus and really get a taste of what I wanted to do with my career," Fahs said. "Everyone should do an internship, 110 matter what their field." The College of Nursing required students to complete nursing clinicals before graduation. Senior Stephanie Giesemann enjoyed seeing the textbook knowledge transformed into real-life occurrences. The College of Education prepared its stu– dents for the classroom by requiring them to student teach for a semester. "During clinicals, a nursing students sees the whole spectrum of daily occurrences in a hospi– ta1, " Giesemann said. "Working with a [RegiS– tered Nurse] reduces initial shock." In the form of classes and studies, prepara– tion brought knowledge. Senior Andrew Chance said his student teach– ing experience was beneficial.
