Last spring, many students sug– gested tha t Aramark pro v ide Krispy Kreme donuts. Arama rk had already been looking for a do– nut provider for the fall and took the suggestion into consideration. Everett Enterprises, the Krispy Kreme provider to eastern Ark~lnsas, approached Harding about providing Krispy Kreme donuts to the students. The owner, Tom Everett, wanted to exp and his new business. On Aug. 1 Aramark decided Krispy Kreme would definitely move to campus . Steve Ritter, directorof food ser– vices for Aramark, looked at dif– ferent candidates for donut pro– viders. Ritter found the brand name of Krispy Kreme made students think of freshness and quality in a donut. "The Krispy Kreme donut ap– peals to several different types of people," Ritter said. "Most every– one, especia ll y out of state, recog– nizes Krispy Kreme as a reputable donut. We chose Krispy Kreme be– cause we thought that it would wor k well on campus," Some students had never heard of Krispy Kreme donuts or pre– ferred a different bran'd of donut. "We don't have Krispy Kremes in the north," junior Kristen Stumpf said, "They just came to the Pitts– burgh area last yea r, Dunkin' Do– nuts are definitely better, No ques– tion. Boston Kreme Dunkin' Do– nuts are the ultimate in donuts." At the beginning of the semes– ter, Krispy Kremes became available in Java City and in the mail part of the student center. "I was excited to hear that WI were having something differen in the student center," senio' Donald Randle said. "The only dil ference with Krispy Kremes here ~ that the donuts are not as hot am fresh as in the actual store."
