Preordering textbooks and charg– ing textbooks to student accounts we re implemented to ease cost con– cern and keep up w ith stude nts' needs. The HUB sold approximately 30,000 textbooks each semester. Ac– cording to William Bridges, book– store manager, more than 400 stu– dents took advantage of orde~j.ng textbooks early and avoided long lines at the beginning of each semes– ter. "The only problem is finding a place to store all the boxes of books," Bridges said. Junior Angela Jackson still tried to avoid theHUB. She checked thecourse list and shopped online at ABEbooks.com. "It's a good alternative," Jackson said. "You can get the major textbooks cheaper, sometimes as much as half of the HUB price." However, buying textbooks online was difficult because textbook were not made available until the mesterbegan, sometimes released Senior Scott Berry did not mind purchasing textbooks from the HUB.
