2001-2002 Yearbook

Practice makes better for sophomore Carolina Banuelos as she works on her doubles match with partner junior Pernilla Axelsson. Banuelos made an impact in the Gulf South Conference in both her singles and doubles matches. The drop shot is one that barely clears the net and proves to be tricky for junior Eva-Lena Axelsson. Axelsson played matches in the number one through number four seeds throughout the season. Junior Pernilla Axelsson entered uncharted water with a record of 21-6 overall and a 13-0 record when playing the number one seed. At the NCAA Regionals in Savannah, Ga., Axelsson downed the previously undefeated number two seed from Kennesaw State and helped the Lady Bisons upset the 11th ranked team in the nation. 252 athletics FACE THE TEAM Front Row: Beth Bonbrisco, Laura Tollett, Carolina Banuelos, Sara Campbell, Hiroko Okamoto.
