Once a year the White County Fair sets up at the Searcy fairgrounds and watches as people of all ages-including Harding students-flock to its variety of fun. There were many attractions other than the caramel apples and oversized hot-dogs at this year's fair. Exhilarating rides such as the thrilling roller coasters and the classic Ferris wheel were stationed all over the fair grounds. But it was the rodeo show that made this year's fair special. The rodeo was not difficult to find if you walked through the gates and followed the sounds of excitement. The fans watched the skills of those in the ring-the bull riders who pushed FOR MANY REASONS themselves to stay on the bull as long as they could. The fair was a favorite date idea for many students. Harding students constantly tried to find unique ideas for taking out that special person on a memorable date. The White County Fair provided students a fun, memorable night that everyone could enjoy. "I thought the fair would be a good idea to take a girl to," said sophomore Aaron Snow when asked about taking his date to the fair one night. "It's different then the typical date of dinner and a movie. The fair only comes once a year; [you] might as well take advantage of the fun the fair offers while it's here." -Heather Gray Billy Thompson-Bridgeton, Mo. Jessica Thompson-North Little Rock, Ark.
