Dr. Dennis Province, assistant professor of chemistry, leads the student body in singing during chapel. Chapel was just one of the worship opportunities students had this year. UNIVERSITY OFFERS wors At Harding, there was a true desire from faculty, staff and the local community to enrich the lives of students spiritually by providing a Christ-centered environment with diverse worship opportunities. Students were acquainted with the concepts of faith development and personal spirituality through daily chapel, Bible classes, worship services and campus-wide devotionals. Although some students wanted to sleep late in the mornings, daily chapel was one of the worship opportunities that drew people to Harding. "It had a large effect on my decision to come here," senior John Homer said. "I wanted to come to a place where they had chapel every morning." Spiritual growth came not only from campus life, but also from the active community neighboring campus. Many Searcy citizens took pride in Harding's firm foundation in Christ. Active churches in the community were concerned about students and the influences that affect them while residing in their home away from home. Various worship services, Bible classes and prayer groups were just a few ways that students were drawn into worship. Harding and the local community helped students grow spiritually by nurturing and challenging their relationship with God. This environment makes Harding unique and is the reason many students choose to be a part of it. -Donda Burright Leslie Foster-Sand Springs, Okla. Brandon Fouts-Mathews, La. Ryan Fowler-Fayette, Mo.
