Break Time Junior Aaron Brooks takes time out on an Autumn day to catch up'on reading. Time was spent in a number of ways on the Harding campus. However, probably more time was spent either socializing or studying. One of the most popular ways to catch up with a friend, avoid studying or procrastinate just a little longer on that 1O-page term paper was to get a cup of coffee and relax. There were many places on and around the Harding campus where students could obtain this inexpensive hot drink. Midnight Oil was always a favorite hang out. Many. students chose to go during the day to study in the soothing atmosphere, and others chose to go at night as a time to socialize and relax. Books-A-Million also lured many college students with its low key atmosphere and literary stock.. A nonconventional place to buy a cup of coffee was the Waffle House. Open late, it was a lure to those with a late night snack attack or a sudden craving for pancakes arid waffles. The newly renovated student center also offered its own rendition of Starbucks with a small coffee cafe, which served a variety of coffees, cappuccinos and snacks like carrot and cheese cake. Any way you put it, Harding students had quite a few places where they could meet their caffeine needs. Photo by Daniel Dubois. Alison Johnson-Holts Summit, Mo. Daniel Johnson-New Brunswick.
