The club process began earlier this year than ever before. In fact, club presidents and vice presidents began planning their induction week last spring. The leaders ofthe clubs set many goals for their members as well as for those who were pledging. Students joined clubs for different reasons. lviany of those reasons revolved around getting to know other people. "I loved induction week," freshman Jarred Crow said. "I grew close to my pledge class. It made me realize that I need to rely on other people and not always rely on myself." According to senior Knight's member Jeff Goff. clubs can have a large impact on a student's social and spiritual life. "Clubs aid in building relationships with fellow Christian brothers and sisters," Goff said. Many friendships were formed during and after induction week. "A big reason why I wanted to join a club was to be active in community service," sophomore Chi Omega Pi ind uctee Eliza beth Rampey said. "I also wanted to be able to do other club activities like functions." One of the goals for many clubs during pledge week was to unify the inductees and the members. "Our goal was for the pledge class to be unified, for them to develop an intense loyalty for Knights," Matt Shaner, president of Knights, said. "It was important that they be unified with each other spiritually. " "Induction week was a lot of fun," junior Taylor Davis said. "It was fun getting to know the girls. We had been praying about our pledge class, and God really blessed us with a great one." "We wanted to let the girls know that we wanted our club to be spiritually focused and for the girls to be strong as a pledge class." - Jody Knight
