W ith this in .mind, perhaps we can learn a lesson from Mike Lewis, senior, and Micah Walker, sophomore. Both Lewis and Walker have seized the reigns of responsibility and leaped head fi rst into the world of entrepreneurship. Lewis began his "odd" college job by des igning T-shi rts for his friends and social clubs on campus. What began as a hobby tu rned into a lucrative endeavor. Thus, the business which Lewis cal ls Function Junction was formed. Walker said he sat in a busi ness cl asses one day pondering ideas in his head. As a res ul t, Wal ker founded Malibu Mikes Shaved Ice, wh ich offe rs a variety of over 30 delicious fl avors. "1 wamed to give the students a place to hang out," Walker said. When asked what he would advise someone who is considering starring a similar endeavo r Walker repl ied, "I would encourage them to...... do it, but be prepared to make a serious time commitment.
