1998-1999 Yearbook

Each year curfew is extended to 1 a.m. to allow students to see the new talent on both the men's and women's basketball teams. The event, called Midnight Madness, marks the first practice allowed for the teams and gives players a chance to show off their playing abilities while having fun. Some students wentjust to be able to stay out past curfew, but the majority were basketball fans eager for the season to begin. "I love basketball and it was really cool to see the players for the new season because you really don't know any of them until then,"seniorCarolBirth said. "It also gives Harding's basketball teams a chance to show offwhat is to come in the basketball season." Midnight Madness wasn't designed only for the basketball teams and individual fans. Clubs competed against each other in three-point shootingcontests, peoplescrambled for money and one lucky person had the chance to try to make a half-court shot for half tuition. Altogether, Midnight Madness gave basketball fans a chance to enjoy a nightout with thebasketball teams. Jay Johnson - Searcy, Ark. Wendy Joice - Searcy. Ark. Daniel Jones - Tuscaloosa, Ala.
