Lady Bison seniors lead team. to playoffs The Lady Bisons picked up where t h ey left off last year, winning their first fi ve games before settl ing into a 19-8 season, making a second consecu tive appearance in the confe rence playoffs and finishing third in the Lone Star Conference's North Division. "We've only been in the Lone Star Conference for two years and each yea r we have made the conference tournament. That speaks hi ghly of our seniors this year and shows us wh ere ou r program is, " Coach Brad Francis said. "We are also getti ng a lot of respect from around the league and that's why we won so many post-season awards." Leading the way for the Lady Bisons this year and providing great leadership were fi ve seniors - MollyMcPherson, Emi lyPrysock, Susan Reiss, Stephanie Barron and Karie Fouts-Fager. "The most important thing is that we [seniors] made sure the team was focused on Christ. We set the tone for the team and made sure everyone gave their best effort, worked hard and played together as a team,"Rei ss said. McPherson, from Greenland, Ark., had a great year, as she finished in the top ten in three statistica l categories. Sh e was second in the conference in points per game with 20, sixth in the conference in rebounds per game wit h 8.5 an d e ight h in t h e conference in free throw percen tage at 79 percent. "I feel 1played a lot better this year than last year because last year 1 was trying to fill Angie FoutsDugger's shoes, whereas this year 1 have been more consistent and played a lot better," McPherson said. Prysock, a point guard, from Mountain Home, Ark., finished in th e top five in two statistical categories. She fini shed first in t h e conference in ass ist-toturnover ratio with 3.10 and fifth in the conference in assists per game with 4.65. "It is my job as the team's point guard to run the offense and take care of the basketball , whi ch is really important. 1 try to make every possession a positive one," Prysock said. Other seniors made key contribut ions. Reiss averaged eight points and six r ebounds whil e starting all 27 games. Barron also started every game and averaged 13 points and four rebou nds. Fouts-Fager provided strength off t he bench as she averaged six points and seven rebounds and shot 48 percent from the field. Juni o r Rachel Raglin a lso started all 27 games this year for the Lady Bisons, averaging eight points and three rebounds.
