Junior Candice Goff works on one ofthe paintings required for herart class. Many art students spent a lot of their time on the paintings and drawings that were required for their classes. As you walked across the front lawn on a warm day, you could usually see many art students scattered around the art building using Harding 's beautiful scenery as the subjectoftheirwork. "The outdoor drawing experience is a very small part of the curriculum, and most of us consider it more ofa learning experience than a class," senior Shawn Spearman said. "Most don 't see it as part of class, but it is one ofthe benefits of being an art student. "Many ofthe students worked on projects for class or one ofthe many paintings, sculptures or drawings needed for their senior art show. "It was frus - trating trying to come up with a title and I spent a fair amount of time deve/oping my show but it didn't seem like enough time," Spearman said. It is almost guaranteed that you could find art students outside on a warm day working on their projects - and wishing they had more time.
