Sophomore Richard O'Connell waits withflowers in the Sears ' lobby. Many guys spent a large portion oftheir time waiting for their dates in women 's dorm lobbies. '1f I'm waiting for someone special, then I will wait forever, but if it 's just or mysister then I mightget a little upset if I have to wait a long time," sophomore Vlad Makarov said. They spent their time waiting by reading wo-men 's magazines or, if they were lucky, an old edition of Readers Digest was available. Sometimes therewere severalguys waiting in the lobby, but many times the onlygirls in the lobby were the desk workers. Without a doubt, flowers weregreat to start or end the date .
