Missionaries train at Harding Harding was a place where dreams began, where they were talked about, cultivated and prayed for. Just as Jesus commanded m Matthew 28 that Christians "go and make disciples of all nations," many students at Harding were dreaming of being missionaries and spreading the gospel all over the world. In the last decade, 10 missionary teams were formed at Harding and others continued to develop. In campaigns and mission internships, students were given many opportunities to gain experience in foreign mission fields before making a commitment. Senior Chris Williams spent a six-week summer internship in Jinja, Uganda. "Once you Ryan Sullenberger and Olivia Eddins discuss the process of evangelism during a Let's Start Talking meeting. The LTS program used English lessons to teach the Bible and was one ofmany methods students could learn to use in the mission field. Besides campaigns and internships, students had many opportunities to prepare right here in Arkansas. Many participated in the Heifer Project and learned to meet physical as well as spiritual needs. Students also attended mission classes and fellowships. Mark and Sandy Berryman, Harding's resident missionaries from Africa, were hosts to mission fellowship meetings in their home every other Sunday. "We hold these meetings so that students can come together and talk about their common interest in missions," she said. Meeting with other mission-minded students was a spiritual encouragement amidst all the other physical and academic preparation. - Rebecca West Ruth Sellers - Candler, N.C. Accounting. Alpha Chi, Am.
