For years, clubs have "locked horns" in order to establish themselves as the top team in each of the five club sports categories. Trophies in each category symbolize excellence in physical skills and in attitudes displayed on the playing courts and fields. Amber Craton, a senior member ofKo Jo Kai social club, said, "I look forward to playing club sports every year ; it is a lot of fun for everyone involved." The pros and cons ofthe club sports program at Harding is an area that many on campus spend much time debating. Each person and each club holds a firm opinion about what can be improved and what should be eliminated. Angie Harlow, a senior member of Ko Jo Kai , said, "Although the interaction between the clubs is good, there are some problems. I think that the fact that there are not always professional, paid monitors at all of the games is a problem. More injuries and fights occur because students referee the games. I know that most of the time we just get a spectator off the sidelines to call our games, and that is not always a good option to take." Harlow also said that it would be good to have assigned referees so that there wouldn't be as much trouble with biased opinions and unfamiliarity with the sport. Wheeler Howard, a juniormember of Knights, said, "Club sports is one of the best activities on campus. It strengthens unity within each club because we constantly work as a team, and it allows for a lot ofinnerclub relationships that might not be there otherwise."
