Social clubs encourage siblings to reach greater spiritual heights From the first round of club mixers to the spring banquet, a whirlwind of club activities swept across the Harding campus throughout the year. Induction week, SpringSingand club meetings created unique friendships that transcended differences in age and major. Club members shared much more than a club song and matching jerseys. Perhaps the greatest source of club unity could be found in the Christain fellowship among club brothers and sisters. Through prayer groups and club devotionals, clubs took time to emphasize the importance of God and Christian family in the lives of their members. Club members also leaned on one another as they encountered mountaintops and valleys in their lives. When students faced disappointments and hardships, their club siblings offered the gentle breeze of encouragement needed to help them soar on wings like eagles over their obstacles. Although each club had its own distinct personality and jersey colors, one common quality was evident among all the clubs: the feeling of camaraderie among members. Behind each club softball game was a crowd ofloyal fans cheering on the sidelines. Behind each round of"Silly Olympics" were growing friendships between old and new members. Behind each success or failure in life were a group of friends · waiting with outstreched arms and special prayers. While focusing on developing close friendships and lasting memories, the clubs never strayed from their original mission: to encourage one another to reach greater spiritual heights.
