Mrs. Sharon Pitt's speech class takes advantage of pleasant weather to listen to Rebekah Stavros ' presentation outdoors. "Let's go outside!" was a frequent request on pretty days. Nice weather was not the only reason for taking a class outside, though. Students were more able to enjoy learning when free from their desks. Without enclosing walls and ceilings, students found their minds freer to explore and ponder. "To me, having class outside makes the whole setting more relaxed," junior Mark Cross said. "I feel closer to the professor and more open to ask questions when we're not in a formal setting, sitting in rows of desks." Having class outside also led students to reflect on the magnificence of God's creation. Joy and thankfulness came more naturally when no man-made enclosures ofbrick and glass separated students from the boundless universe. Photo by Aaron Gillihan. Wade Ford - Goodlettsville, Tenn.
