1996-1997 Yearbook

Enjoying the conversation as much as the food, Harding students share the latest news from their lives. Although three meals a day provided the proteins, carbohydrates and other nutrients their bodies needed, the atmosphere of friendly conversation nourished their souls. The cafeteria was a den of social activity. Students chatted over food-laden trays with friends whom they might not get the chance to see at any other place on campus. Those who took the table-hopping approach tried to visit with as many friends as they could in this haven offellowship before dragging themselves back to the silence of the library . No matter what the topic of conversation, students enjoyed the opportunity to express their delights and frustrations with campus life and get to know each other better. Although their academic education occurred mostly in the classroom, students did not overlook the social insights and understanding gleaned in the cafeteria. Photo by Aaron Gillihan.
