Ka Re Ta Formed: 1979 with 45 members Song: "A Common Love" Scripture: Luke 6:38 Ia:K Commitment week Return to one-week induction meets with positive response After last year's revised induction process created controversy, the Induction Review Team recommended the return of some traditions and practices of former years while retaining the positive aspects of the new system. Kappa Sigma Kappa Formed: 1965 Returning to the one-week system resulted in a more positive attitude in most students. "Most clubs and individuals seem a lot more satisfied now and are glad for the changes," Kyle Klein, Knights president in 1994, said. with 16 members Scripture: I Peter 3:8-12 KTQ Kappa Tau Omega Formed: 1982 with 15 members The initial reason for the change was that the administration and student body had voiced concern about the system. In the spring of 1994, President David Burks appointed a committee to evaluate the induction system and make recommendations. A new system was adopted, effective last fall. The new process included many changes from the pledge week of former years, spreading the initiation period over the entire semester. Following a series of receptions, individuals narrowed their choices to eight clubs, then to four, with the guarantee that one of the four would offer them a bid.
