Seniors Graduate student Scott Lloyd works on painting the set for the Homecoming musical, The Secret Garden. Many students donated their time to help create the various sets that were used for the Homecoming musicals andSpring Sing. The set production staff is made up ofcast members, theater majors or "whoever comes by andwants to help, "according to drama professor Morris Ellis. "The castmembers themselves make up most ofthe work force," Ellis said. The average time to build the set for the Homecoming musical is seven weeks - from the painting ofthe set to the hangingofthe set. For othershows, aset takes between three and four weeks to create. "Some sets are done the day of the show,"Ellis said. "It just depends on the show." According to Ellis, some students come with high school experience while others learn most ofthe skills on the job.
